Telecommunication Center

The UIC Police Communications Center is the central hub for all public safety tools and resources used by the University of Illinois Chicago. All calls for public safety services are directed to this center, primarily through the highly-publicized  “5-5555” extension in addition to heavily-used administrative extensions. Public Safety units include UIC police officers, security personnel, and student patrol staff. On average, 75,000 calls for service are generated annually in the Communications Center. The Police Communications Center also monitors the campus video surveillance system that consists of 900+ cameras, the Lenel entry/exit alarm system, the Keltron fire alarm system, and the Startel emergency kiosks and panic buttons which can be found all around campus grounds.
