The Field Training Program provides post-academy, on-the-job training and evaluation of Recruit Officers. The program is designed to present the Recruit Officer with the necessary instruction and guidance to facilitate the use of the academic training of the police academy to the practical needs of a solo-status patrol officer; and to familiarize the Recruit Officer with the environment, job responsibilities and duties of a sworn police officer.
