(Chicago, IL) – The UICPD announced it made 2 arrests in the St. Patrick’s Day ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ enforcement campaign. One arrest was associated with an outstanding warrant for serious drug offenses, and the other was associated with a motorist driving with invalid license and no vehicle insurance. In addition, UICPD also issued 10 other driving related citations during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period.

“By keeping impaired drivers off the roads and ensuring that motorists and passengers are buckled up, we’re able to help make the roads a safer place for everyone,” said Lieutenant of Patrol, Lt. Christopher Ziegler.

The UICPD joined forces with highway safety partners and both state and local law enforcement agencies during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign.

The traffic safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
